WEBVTT

00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:18.800
If you're a leader and you want to have a change done within your company and you've done that discovery, you have to make sure that your entire team knows that the clarity is going to come from the action steps and the movement through the change, that it will become more apparent to them.

00:00:18.879 --> 00:00:27.440
That all you can really give them is we're here, we all feel this pain and we recognize that it isn't what we want and where we want to be.

00:00:27.519 --> 00:00:30.960
But to get to that other side, we're going to have to go through some fall.

00:00:31.359 --> 00:01:00.079
We're going to have to go through some areas where things aren't lit as well as we would like them to be honest.

00:01:09.920 --> 00:01:20.959
And this is our final bonus episode and final episode of 2025, which is very hard to believe as we're heading into that new year.

00:01:21.840 --> 00:01:26.480
But for those that have been listening to the podcast, I appreciate your support.

00:01:26.879 --> 00:01:34.719
And if you are enjoying the podcast, I hope that you are following it and sharing it and looking for us on YouTube as well.

00:01:34.879 --> 00:01:47.840
I just want to say thanks to everyone who's been listening and looking forward to see where 2026 takes all of us in our journey as we start to begin to build stronger relationships with change.

00:01:48.400 --> 00:01:52.480
And that leads us into this bonus episode.

00:01:52.640 --> 00:01:57.840
And I want to do a little reflection and kind of step back to how we got to this point.

00:01:58.480 --> 00:02:06.959
We began the journey focused on change is an area that we all tend to struggle with.

00:02:07.200 --> 00:02:22.400
And a lot of times that means we don't understand what it means to ourselves, let alone anyone else within a team or a business and organization that we are part of.

00:02:22.800 --> 00:02:33.120
And change management and change within organizations, we've talked about that high percentage of failure to meet the objective, to meet the goals.

00:02:33.280 --> 00:02:53.680
It's a personal issue and kind of this universal issue as we're starting to look at, you know, our businesses, but also an entire industry that sometimes is seen as slow to change, slow to adopt, anything that looks like innovation or anything that looks new.

00:02:54.159 --> 00:03:07.680
So we started the journey talking about choice and what choice means to us personally, and what does it mean when we make first choice, first second choice?

00:03:07.919 --> 00:03:19.759
So, first choice, we've we've made the decision that we're going to make this change happen, versus someone else has made a choice that this change is going to happen.

00:03:20.080 --> 00:03:22.639
And how do we look at that?

00:03:22.800 --> 00:03:24.319
How do we feel about it?

00:03:24.639 --> 00:03:30.639
And whether we're going to become willing participants or begin to resist.

00:03:30.879 --> 00:03:36.240
The second area that we've been focusing on in the last episode was control.

00:03:37.199 --> 00:03:47.199
And we talked about control being an illusionist and that it didn't, it didn't really feel real to most of us because it's playing tricks.

00:03:47.360 --> 00:03:53.840
Like we hold on to things because we believe we're in 100% control at that moment.

00:03:54.240 --> 00:03:55.840
But that's not the reality.

00:03:56.000 --> 00:03:59.680
We're holding on and we're actually losing more control.

00:04:00.400 --> 00:04:05.759
And that control is actually done through our presence in the journey.

00:04:05.919 --> 00:04:22.079
And that's what is kind of getting us to that point of leadership, that we are present during the change, that we understand that holding on to things that maybe worked in past situations are now causing us more pain.

00:04:22.399 --> 00:04:34.160
And that's and that's really part of change in itself is that you sit in current state and you're you place a goal out in front of you.

00:04:34.240 --> 00:04:42.800
And it depends on how big that goal is, there is a a time lapse that has to happen to get you from current state to future.

00:04:43.439 --> 00:05:11.199
So when you first investigate that choice of do I want to make this change, you are then evaluating uh all of those things that are currently that believed to be in your control, and what you might in your mind think that you're losing to go to that next stage, to begin to take the journey of the change.

00:05:12.000 --> 00:05:18.959
So as humans, we need to evaluate our relationship with choice.

00:05:19.360 --> 00:05:21.680
We need to evaluate it with control.

00:05:22.560 --> 00:05:28.720
And by doing those, we are strengthening the foundation of our relationship with change.

00:05:29.199 --> 00:05:35.199
The third area that we need to investigate is the word clarity.

00:05:36.000 --> 00:05:45.680
And from a coaching perspective, the word clarity is this huge area of discovery.

00:05:46.319 --> 00:05:55.759
We have to go through a lot of questions in order to understand what clarity means from that individual.

00:05:56.319 --> 00:05:59.199
And the same is true for yourself.

00:05:59.839 --> 00:06:07.279
Like if you want to build a stronger relationship with clarity, you need to understand what it even means to you.

00:06:07.600 --> 00:06:30.800
So today we want to zero in on how our belief of clarity and that common statement that we hear in the industry, in our own lives, we probably said it, other family members saying it, like, well, I would make that change if I had 100% clarity.

00:06:32.240 --> 00:06:40.000
And it's got to make you wonder when you really think about it, is it's it's what does that actually mean?

00:06:40.720 --> 00:06:45.360
Think about what clarity means to you in this moment.

00:06:45.839 --> 00:06:57.839
Because we we talk about how clarity is well, you just put the protocols in place and you build a process and you know you set the expectations and you do all of those things.

00:06:58.000 --> 00:07:00.800
Businesses do that with change all the time.

00:07:00.959 --> 00:07:02.399
You do it in your personal life.

00:07:02.480 --> 00:07:06.480
You say, hey, I don't like this current state and I want to be there.

00:07:06.800 --> 00:07:11.759
So I'm gonna start the journey and I'm gonna this, I'm gonna make this happen, but we give up.

00:07:12.000 --> 00:07:16.639
We give up because other areas are faltering.

00:07:16.879 --> 00:07:22.959
It's not that we we don't want to see at what's on the other side of that change.

00:07:23.040 --> 00:07:38.879
It's that the clarity piece and the control piece and and and and and the first choice area versus second choice, like all of those things create emotions because clarity is personal, just like choice, just like control.

00:07:39.600 --> 00:07:43.920
So we can't put clarity as a universal solution.

00:07:44.959 --> 00:08:02.800
It you have to understand it for yourself if you're going to make a change that is impacting you, maybe a small amount of people, versus what does it mean for clarity if you are leading change within your organization or within an industry?

00:08:03.040 --> 00:08:11.040
So let's let's take a look at clarity from our personal aspect, because it isn't a universal thing.

00:08:11.360 --> 00:08:15.839
Clarity is, you know, I mentioned this before.

00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:17.680
It's like a Sasquatch.

00:08:18.240 --> 00:08:24.000
Like we think we've seen it, but we probably have never seen it throughout our lives.

00:08:24.240 --> 00:08:26.639
And I can pick on a couple areas of my own.

00:08:26.800 --> 00:08:36.879
I can think about when I had two, two young children, you know, everyone else is telling you, you know, there's all these books, all kinds of advice coming from every direction.

00:08:36.960 --> 00:08:42.480
But the reality was, like, no one had ever had my two sons before.

00:08:42.799 --> 00:08:55.840
So I could either think that there was a roadmap and the actual game plan, but I would have missed something by following advice of others.

00:08:56.000 --> 00:09:07.759
I would have tried to apply things that maybe didn't meet the situation, didn't meet the need of what it was, you know, that my children actually needed and were going to become.

00:09:08.879 --> 00:09:20.159
So, you know, clarity when it relates to change or trying something new that you've never done before, you got to start to ask yourself those questions.

00:09:20.399 --> 00:09:23.200
Like, what does clarity mean to me?

00:09:23.440 --> 00:09:26.559
And how much information do I actually need?

00:09:26.879 --> 00:09:28.159
Do I need 100%?

00:09:28.559 --> 00:09:30.159
And what does that look like?

00:09:30.399 --> 00:09:32.879
You know, what are the steps that have to be taken?

00:09:33.120 --> 00:09:37.759
And if you think, like, okay, I'm going to start going to the gym.

00:09:37.919 --> 00:09:39.279
I want to exercise more.

00:09:39.440 --> 00:09:43.919
That's we're heading into the new year, and that's like a very common thing that people think about.

00:09:44.080 --> 00:09:45.600
I want to lose weight.

00:09:45.679 --> 00:09:47.600
I'm I want to become more active.

00:09:48.639 --> 00:09:51.679
All right, I'll get a gym membership, I'll pay for for a whole year.

00:09:51.840 --> 00:09:55.840
That'll hold me accountable because it's coming out of the checking account.

00:09:56.080 --> 00:10:02.639
Yet if you look at most of the fitness industry, their money is made at the first half of the year.

00:10:02.879 --> 00:10:06.080
Most people are gone out of the gym within three months.

00:10:06.399 --> 00:10:16.000
Because while the long-term goal was there, it was the daily and weekly clarity of what you were going to be doing that day.

00:10:16.240 --> 00:10:19.039
It wasn't the clarity of the whole year.

00:10:19.200 --> 00:10:36.080
It was just keeping it clear on what it was going to feel like by doing those exercises daily to weekly, and putting a game plan together in a much smaller uh viewpoint versus the full path.

00:10:36.240 --> 00:10:42.720
So if we don't go through that time to discover, not just for ourselves, like what does this change actually mean?

00:10:42.960 --> 00:10:49.600
And then you look inside your business and you say, okay, I feel, I feel the change needs this much clarity.

00:10:49.840 --> 00:10:51.600
What is everyone else thinking?

00:10:51.840 --> 00:10:55.200
Because they're not going to be the same, because it's personal.

00:10:56.000 --> 00:11:05.120
And I think a lot of times what happens with clarity is that it's the boss said, Does that make sense?

00:11:05.440 --> 00:11:06.879
Are we all aligned?

00:11:07.120 --> 00:11:13.519
And then heads to the office, and most people didn't want to speak up.

00:11:13.679 --> 00:11:18.000
And if they did speak up, like they still leave the room confused.

00:11:18.720 --> 00:11:27.120
And you can think about all these things even on a project standpoint, like when people aren't aligned on the message.

00:11:27.519 --> 00:11:56.559
And while communication within businesses is very much a critical component of change management, it's that we're having the communication at a point in time where we didn't do any beginning discovery to better understand our individuals and our team and how they feel about change and how they start to think about what clarity actually means.

00:11:56.720 --> 00:11:59.519
How much clarity do they need as a unit?

00:11:59.840 --> 00:12:06.960
And we, as humans, again, going back to that, I would do it if I had 100% clarity.

00:12:07.120 --> 00:12:09.120
I would take those steps.

00:12:09.360 --> 00:12:13.120
We would make that change, we would use that method of construction.

00:12:13.360 --> 00:12:17.919
If you give us data and you show us, like, hey, it's worked elsewhere.

00:12:18.159 --> 00:12:19.360
Well, guess what?

00:12:19.679 --> 00:12:20.799
You're not them.

00:12:21.360 --> 00:12:25.120
So even with that data, situations are going to change.

00:12:25.360 --> 00:12:29.440
It doesn't mean that it's going to go exactly as planned.

00:12:29.600 --> 00:12:32.320
So what happens when it doesn't?

00:12:32.559 --> 00:12:35.519
How are you going to react to that?

00:12:35.759 --> 00:12:47.360
And I think a lot of times, like, you know, when you're a freshman at university or college, like you didn't rush through to your senior year.

00:12:47.600 --> 00:12:53.120
The reality of the clarity of this is how I'm starting on day one.

00:12:53.519 --> 00:12:55.120
I want this degree.

00:12:55.279 --> 00:12:59.200
It's it's where I want to have a focus area for my career.

00:12:59.679 --> 00:13:13.279
The journey through freshman year, sophomore, junior, all the way to senior and graduation, that journey that you're experiencing, like that's the change.

00:13:13.600 --> 00:13:21.279
Know that it's you got to go this many courses and you got to do this many credits, but you don't know what that class is going to be like.

00:13:21.360 --> 00:13:23.360
You don't know what the professor's going to be like.

00:13:23.519 --> 00:13:24.879
You don't know how you're going to feel.

00:13:24.960 --> 00:13:27.759
You don't know what the rest of the workload's going to be.

00:13:27.919 --> 00:13:31.519
Like all of those things are unknown.

00:13:31.840 --> 00:13:43.840
But the journey and the experience of going through the trainings and the and the classes and the education piece of it, like that's the beautiful part of change.

00:13:44.000 --> 00:13:45.759
You wouldn't want to rush through that.

00:13:46.000 --> 00:13:53.919
But when we get into businesses, like we want to start with, hey, we communicated, like, we're here, we want to get to there.

00:13:54.159 --> 00:14:00.080
We map out clarity that doesn't answer all of the questions that everybody wants.

00:14:00.320 --> 00:14:05.519
We end up into a situation somewhere down the line, and we give up.

00:14:05.759 --> 00:14:13.120
Half the team gives up, the other team's pushing because not everybody understands the message, the goal.

00:14:13.759 --> 00:14:20.000
But it's because some people think I've I I gotta know exactly how this is gonna go.

00:14:20.240 --> 00:14:24.320
And if I don't, I'm not going to be a willing participant.

00:14:24.639 --> 00:14:30.559
And well, 100% clarity, it will never happen.

00:14:30.879 --> 00:14:34.240
Because it's in most cases new territory.

00:14:35.039 --> 00:14:37.440
It's something you've never seen.

00:14:37.759 --> 00:14:40.559
It's part of life you've never experienced.

00:14:40.879 --> 00:14:54.399
And the reason I'm saying all that is that I think I think a lot of times in organizations, it's we don't have time or we feel we don't have time.

00:14:54.639 --> 00:15:01.039
So we do not spend the necessary time to go through that discovery piece.

00:15:01.360 --> 00:15:08.639
Spend time as a team and as a unit to to think about like, okay, here is what we're feeling.

00:15:09.039 --> 00:15:20.320
Here is all of the challenges that we're facing and the problems that we're facing, and in defining all of those and getting to the root problem and then coming up with a solution.

00:15:20.639 --> 00:15:29.840
A lot of times what we do is the solution, someone comes up with it without getting enough feedback, without enough discovery.

00:15:30.159 --> 00:15:41.600
So as you start the journey, there's different ideas of the clarity because there's this is the goal that one person wants versus the actual problems that are happening.

00:15:41.840 --> 00:15:55.519
So you're not clear even as you begin the journey of the person leading it, because you haven't aligned or you haven't gone through that discovery, because you want to rush through it.

00:15:56.559 --> 00:16:01.200
And by rushing through it, like no one's no one's having the experience.

00:16:01.440 --> 00:16:06.399
No one's gaining any more insight by you know trying new things.

00:16:06.559 --> 00:16:16.720
But one of the real dangers of change within our life as individuals as well as organizations is that rushing through period.

00:16:17.279 --> 00:16:21.519
It's that we think that change is a one-time event.

00:16:22.000 --> 00:16:22.879
And it's not.

00:16:23.919 --> 00:16:28.559
Change is change is an experience, change is a journey.

00:16:29.440 --> 00:16:34.000
And in order to get it to stick, like you can't rush it.

00:16:34.480 --> 00:16:40.879
And where clarity comes in to this is that you set that expectation at the beginning.

00:16:41.759 --> 00:16:56.720
If you're a leader and you want to have a change done within your company, and you've done that discovery and you've decided like these are the problems that we're having, and that's the solutions that we need to put in place because that is her end goal.

00:16:57.360 --> 00:17:12.960
You have to make sure that your entire team knows that the clarity is going to come from the action steps and the movement through the change, that it will become more apparent to them.

00:17:13.519 --> 00:17:23.759
That all you can really give them is we're here, we all feel this pain, and we recognize that it isn't what we want and where we want to be.

00:17:24.160 --> 00:17:28.000
But to get to that other side, we're going to have to go through some fog.

00:17:28.640 --> 00:17:36.079
We're going to have to go through some areas where things aren't lit as well as we would like them to be.

00:17:36.480 --> 00:17:40.000
So we need to slow down in those areas.

00:17:40.319 --> 00:17:52.000
We need to understand how we're feeling about them and going through them, but we need to understand like that moment, those areas of fog and darkness, they are about exploration.

00:17:52.160 --> 00:17:53.200
They are about discovery.

00:17:53.359 --> 00:18:08.960
They are about trying to find out like these new things that we're learning, these new tasks that we're taking on, this new technology or method of construction or or solution that we're putting into place, like this is where we're growing.

00:18:09.200 --> 00:18:10.799
This is where we're learning.

00:18:10.960 --> 00:18:12.720
This is where we're developing.

00:18:13.200 --> 00:18:19.279
And that is setting a foundation to get the change to stick.

00:18:19.759 --> 00:18:32.960
Because when it feels uncomfortable, when it feels new and it feels dark and a little foggy, speeding up through those areas, like that's where accidents happen.

00:18:33.599 --> 00:18:42.160
That's where we feel like, hey, I messed up and well, this didn't work because I didn't know what I was doing.

00:18:42.720 --> 00:18:54.720
But if you look at it from a standpoint of I'm going to slow down in this area, we all are going to slow down in this area.

00:18:54.960 --> 00:18:57.519
We will take smaller steps.

00:18:57.839 --> 00:19:02.480
We will see more clearly as we're working through it.

00:19:02.640 --> 00:19:07.200
We will connect more to this new area.

00:19:07.680 --> 00:19:12.640
We will understand and learn from those things that we get wrong.

00:19:13.119 --> 00:19:18.720
And we will build a better understanding of what it will take next time.

00:19:19.279 --> 00:19:20.880
That's where you're gaining clarity.

00:19:21.200 --> 00:19:29.759
Because if you've never been to a gym, as the example I gave in a personal life, that first time is not going to feel all that comfortable.

00:19:30.240 --> 00:19:32.880
Maybe even not after the first week.

00:19:33.440 --> 00:19:36.559
There's equipment that you just you don't know how to use yet.

00:19:36.960 --> 00:19:40.960
There's muscles that you haven't, you know, haven't worked out in a while.

00:19:41.839 --> 00:19:45.519
So it's it's really the same thing.

00:19:46.079 --> 00:19:50.559
It's it's this you you've not done it, you're reintroducing something.

00:19:50.720 --> 00:19:52.960
So you can't just rush through it.

00:19:53.039 --> 00:19:59.599
You can't just go in and lift every weight up and do every exercise and expect it to be done.

00:20:00.240 --> 00:20:01.359
It's going to take time.

00:20:02.079 --> 00:20:08.960
It's going to take you understanding that the clarity comes by the actions.

00:20:09.440 --> 00:20:18.160
The clarity of moving through new territory, foggy area, uh a non-lit area, you slow down.

00:20:18.400 --> 00:20:19.839
You don't speed up.

00:20:20.559 --> 00:20:31.039
If you're doing this personally or you're doing this with a team, you have to understand at each point in time how you're feeling.

00:20:31.279 --> 00:20:32.480
Like, name it.

00:20:32.880 --> 00:20:38.319
If you're having fear because you can't see or this didn't work, you're talking about it.

00:20:38.480 --> 00:20:42.240
You're talking through all of these things as a team.

00:20:42.559 --> 00:21:07.440
So when we think back to this area of, hey, I would do that if I had 100% clarity, whether, again, it's personal or as a team, once you've evaluated what clarity means to yourself and to others, then you can begin to talk a little deeper about that level of clarity that it's going to take to take the first step.

00:21:07.680 --> 00:21:13.119
Like we only need as a group, we only need clarity for that first step.

00:21:13.359 --> 00:21:14.799
So what is that going to take?

00:21:14.960 --> 00:21:16.400
What does that look like?

00:21:16.640 --> 00:21:19.119
And you begin to build trust.

00:21:19.359 --> 00:21:26.960
You build trust in your yourself and your ability to take on something that you've never done.

00:21:27.200 --> 00:21:32.480
You're building trust as a team because now you're you're talking through it.

00:21:32.559 --> 00:21:34.640
That communication level is increasing.

00:21:34.720 --> 00:21:36.880
Everyone is present during it.

00:21:37.039 --> 00:21:48.000
They've understand that it wasn't a first choice for them, but but the second choice of being involved and a willing participant, the buy-in level is increasing.

00:21:48.160 --> 00:22:04.079
And they they recognize that the value of working through this is greater than the current state because they're they're not holding on to this belief of that 100% clarity is all there is.

00:22:04.240 --> 00:22:13.359
So therefore, you know, if I can't have the 100% clarity, I can't control everything, and I didn't make the choice, like I'm just gonna sit over here and do nothing.

00:22:13.680 --> 00:22:24.960
But by talking about each of these things, by realizing that that clarity is only coming by trying something.

00:22:25.519 --> 00:22:32.720
Because you don't know if you are capable of it until you step into it.

00:22:33.039 --> 00:22:42.720
And our minds are also this trap that will get you to believe that you're incapable of doing something.

00:22:43.119 --> 00:22:52.640
It'll create those obstacles, it'll it'll create the limiting beliefs, and then you'll put it into a vicious cycle of like, nah, we're just not gonna change.

00:22:52.720 --> 00:22:53.440
Well, why not?

00:22:53.599 --> 00:22:55.119
Because the last one didn't go well.

00:22:55.839 --> 00:22:58.960
What about the last change didn't go well?

00:22:59.119 --> 00:23:03.039
And keep asking more questions about the last change.

00:23:03.200 --> 00:23:07.039
Try to find out, like, were we not aligned in the last change?

00:23:07.200 --> 00:23:09.119
Did we not do enough discovery?

00:23:09.359 --> 00:23:11.759
Did we rush through it too quickly?

00:23:12.000 --> 00:23:13.920
Maybe it was the wrong answer.

00:23:14.079 --> 00:23:19.119
Maybe the problems that we thought we had weren't even the problems that we were trying to solve.

00:23:19.359 --> 00:23:27.039
But just laying into the area of, hey, we just aren't good at change, so therefore we're not going to do it.

00:23:27.119 --> 00:23:45.519
You're you're not giving yourself, you know, the opportunity to step back and begin to understand your relationship with change as it relates to choice and control and this area of clarity that we're talking about.

00:23:45.839 --> 00:23:51.119
Because again, clarity is an enormous word.

00:23:52.079 --> 00:23:56.880
Every client that comes in and says, I just want to get clarity, what does that mean?

00:23:57.119 --> 00:23:58.559
What does that mean to you?

00:23:58.799 --> 00:24:06.720
Because I I don't know what 100% clarity looks like even for myself until I begin to explore it.

00:24:07.039 --> 00:24:09.839
And when will I take that first step?

00:24:10.000 --> 00:24:15.359
Like, well, how much information do I need to take the first action?

00:24:15.839 --> 00:24:37.039
But I can make the fog less dense by having action steps, by having smaller incremental viewpoints of what I need to achieve to get to the next point of clarity, not to see all the way through it.

00:24:37.599 --> 00:24:50.880
Because that middle area, that area of change that we talked about, that exploration and discovery and learning, like that's the most beautiful part of change.

00:24:51.680 --> 00:24:58.000
That is where you're finding something greater than you had in the past.

00:24:58.480 --> 00:25:11.279
And if you again skip it because you don't have 100% clarity, if you rush through it because you just want the change to happen, you're missing something.

00:25:11.680 --> 00:25:13.440
You're missing that experience.

00:25:14.000 --> 00:25:28.880
But we we can't get there if we're not willing to pause to understand our relationship with change and others and their relationship with change.

00:25:29.279 --> 00:25:32.319
And it can feel like a big task.

00:25:32.880 --> 00:25:38.799
And people may say, hey, it's a waste of time, but we're just not good at it.

00:25:39.039 --> 00:26:00.559
Or we just don't want to put change into place because we're too busy, so we'll just keep feeling the pain that we're feeling on a daily basis because we can't control everything, so therefore we're not gonna do it and we don't have clarity, so nothing changes, everything stays the same.

00:26:01.200 --> 00:26:16.319
And that's not a good answer for anyone, within the business, for yourself, for the industry, like we have to be willing to explore this relationship.

00:26:17.039 --> 00:26:18.480
Why is it a relationship?

00:26:19.039 --> 00:26:23.119
Well, what relationship works well when it's one-sided?

00:26:23.440 --> 00:26:29.920
So if we believe that a change is happening to us, then it's one-sided.

00:26:30.720 --> 00:26:33.759
You're not the willing participant that is needed.

00:26:34.240 --> 00:26:46.880
And but when you're exploring these first three steps as it relates to strengthening that relationship with change, you're now an active participant in the relationship.

00:26:47.200 --> 00:26:58.319
You are identifying those things that you need to begin the journey because those areas are just the beginning.

00:26:58.640 --> 00:27:06.480
And in order to make it all the way to the other side of that change, you need commitment.

00:27:06.720 --> 00:27:10.960
And commitment is the next area of exploration.

00:27:11.279 --> 00:27:15.440
Commitment is it is where we fall apart.

00:27:15.680 --> 00:27:18.160
It is why we quit the gym.

00:27:18.480 --> 00:27:22.000
It is why we don't follow through on the change.

00:27:22.240 --> 00:27:34.799
It is why a lot of change implementations fail in businesses or initiatives, don't meet the goals because not everybody's has the same level of commitment to the change.

00:27:35.039 --> 00:27:52.480
And that's because they haven't understood their relationship around choice and their relationship around control, and they haven't understood what clarity means to themselves and what it means to others.

00:27:52.720 --> 00:28:03.920
And when those things aren't aligned internally and they're not aligned within your team or business and group, yeah, you won't stay committed.

00:28:04.319 --> 00:28:08.559
That's just how we is how we function as humans.

00:28:09.279 --> 00:28:13.279
Because we want to go back to the tried and the true.

00:28:13.680 --> 00:28:29.519
We want to go back to what seemed easier before, even if the current pain can be removed, lowered, or you know, completely addressed in the way we want it to by making the change.

00:28:29.920 --> 00:28:35.359
So we we are human and I recognize that.

00:28:35.839 --> 00:28:37.920
But I recognize an opportunity.

00:28:38.240 --> 00:28:53.599
I recognize an opportunity of trying to help others begin this exploration piece of their relationship with change by zeroing in on the choice and the control and the clarity.

00:28:54.079 --> 00:28:57.839
And in the next episode, we'll explore commitment.

00:28:58.799 --> 00:29:05.279
And how do we start to think about commitment in our own lives and in our teams?

00:29:05.440 --> 00:29:12.559
And this is where that reflection I was talking about earlier of how did the last change go for yourself?

00:29:12.720 --> 00:29:15.599
How did the last change go for the team?

00:29:16.079 --> 00:29:20.799
And do that discovery as well before you try to rush through it.

00:29:21.119 --> 00:29:55.119
So I hope this mini-series is again just sparking some curiosity around change in your own life and within your business and team, because we can't continue to go on within the industry as a whole, believing that we're not going to change, or that solutions just don't work, or technology can't work, or methodologies can't work, because we have to have some agency in all of this.

00:29:55.440 --> 00:30:01.200
We have to take ownership in this relationship that we have with change.

00:30:01.599 --> 00:30:04.400
And we need to make sure it's not one-sided.

00:30:04.559 --> 00:30:06.640
And that is the way that we can move forward.

00:30:06.880 --> 00:30:11.359
I had mentioned before that things were going to change in 2026.

00:30:12.240 --> 00:30:22.559
And I'm excited about what is currently kind of in the plan for all the podcasts as we head into the new year.

00:30:22.799 --> 00:30:30.000
Um, the goal is again to have two guests released on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

00:30:30.240 --> 00:30:38.400
So uh an additional guest each month through 2026 with a bonus episode dropping on a third Thursday.

00:30:38.720 --> 00:30:47.359
That'll give us more opportunity to think about things that are kind of top of mind and bring in mini-series like this.

00:30:47.759 --> 00:30:50.799
So I know it is the holiday season.

00:30:50.960 --> 00:31:07.920
We're heading into the new year in a few days, but I'm grateful again to all of you who have listened, who have given me feedback on the podcast, or given me things that would be helpful for you and for others.

00:31:08.240 --> 00:31:11.119
So until next time, I hope you stay well.

00:31:11.279 --> 00:31:17.119
I hope you continue to find those things that that excite you that you want to explore more.

00:31:17.440 --> 00:31:56.640
And I hope you continue to activate your curiosity as well as curiosity within the curious.
